| Hey guys, i have a chem project i need to do. It mostly contains a bit of electronics. I need two square copper plats probably around 7cm by 7cm (2-2.5inches). Anyone know if normal hardware stores, like Home Depot or Rona, would carry something like this? I also need to find four spacers that do not conduct electricity. (or not very well.) I was thinking plastic spacers. Any ideas? | Check with a metal fabrication or welding shop. They usually have all sorts of metal lying around, and if they don't have what you need, they may know where to go for it. As to non-conducting washer/spacers; look in any hardware store and pick up a couple of hose washers. Y'know, those things you put in the end of a garden hose to keep it from leaking? | Modder-ator | What, Canadian Tire doesn't have anything? They have everything, so if they don't, well, I think you're out of luck ![]() On a serious note though, check out McMaster-Carr, they've got an amazing selection of about everything you could want! |

| Home depot sells steel and aluminum flat bar. I'm not certain about copper but i'm certain they sell copper tubes. The metal shop at school should have copper plates. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

McMaster-Carr The web is a pain to navigate but under Raw Materials click Metals then choose Copper and that will get you going. Next you can consider surface and things like thickness. Also is purity important? Spacers as in sheets of a dielectric material to be sandwiched between the copper plates? That or simply spacers? Same deal but under Raw Materials look at plastics. There are countless nonconductive materials depending on your needs. Plexiglass and Glass to name a few. Edit: Just noticed McMaster Carr was suggested. Dumb Ron!
