What's your plans for the 4th......

The wife and I decided to go to Atlantic City,New Jersey and get in some poker tournaments....(smack to back of head from wife) ....well,I decided to anyway,sounds good .We will be walking hand in hand on the beach and I will be thinking of poker .(wife smiles)
We are leaving on Thursday night and will return on Sunday.Friday night there is a big tournament at Harrah's at 8:15pm that I will be in for sure and most likely will be in 2 tournaments on Saturday...while she hits the machines hard.
We will be parking our bottoms on a bar stool at the Hard Rock for some refreshments in the midst of it all as well.
My digital cam will arrive Monday (tomorrow)...so I should have a few days to learn the functions and will be taking some pics to put in the contest as well.

sounds like fun... the only thing I know of (depending on the weather since its been rainy lately) is going to the local dirt car race track. They always have the best fireworks displays in the FL panhandle plus the racing. Last night we went and they had sprint cars.. but the last races were cut short due to rain about 11PM.

Generally we would be in NYC for the week surrounding the 4th. I do a reunion thing on the beach with guys I grew up with. Hell this year is the 40th Class Reunion. For some reason I decided we would hang out at home this year, I am just not into the NY thing. Been going back for the last 10 years and I guess just burned out on it.

Then my daughter called who figured we would be in NY and I said nope. She wanted to come up for an extended weekend bringing up my grandaughter and Mike her boyfriend. Yeah, 7 years and one grandaughter later Mike is still the boyfriend. I think Renee has issues with commitment? Oh yeah, little Alexis is 4. Gawd I love that kid.

Anyway we have them joining us for a 5 day weekend. The neighbors are planning parties and cook outs and all are well armed with pyrotechnics including us. Should make for a hell of a weekend. Trip to the Cleveland Zoo and Lake among the stuff to do.

Looking forward to it big time.

<EDIT> Oh yeah, they will bring Brutus up with them. Brutus is a 6 month old German Shepherd puppy who will torment Brandy & Bear. Gawd I love that dog! </EDIT>

That sounds like fun.....for all the poker tournaments they have here, I've never once played.....and honestly have never sat down to learn the game, other than the basics......we need to get back to playing with the group we have here.

We'll actually just be hanging out around the house, they have a pretty good fireworks display down on the Strip, but with all the illegal fireworks shot off around here we like to be home with the animals, who really don't enjoy that evening.

Oh yeah, Kathy has been to the vet and an adequate supply of "doggie downers" are on hand. Bear our "Golden Retriever" has issues with things that go bang and water. Such an embarrasment to his breed. Brandy who never had a fear has learned from Bear to fear things that go bang. I have no clue how Brutus would react but... extra downers are on hand!
