I use GIMP, it's free, and does just about everything that PS does.

I have Photoshop CS2.
Send me a PM if you're interested in getting a copy for a good price...

But if you are just learning about image editing/processing, then GIMP might be a good place to start since it is powerful and free.

I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and also use Paint Shop Pro 7 and 8 by JASC. I think Adobe later took JASC when it became PSP 10.0. I am not really all that great with any of them but stumble along. No shortage of online tutorials out there for them.

I also have experimented a little with GIMP which is free and takes a little time to work with. As I type this I see the refrences to GIMP.

From a creativity standpoint some programs do more than others and range in price from Free to Holy Crap it cost that much.

Nice part is if you start with GIMP (Free) you can get help here as well as plenty of online tutorials. The tutorials are a great learning tool.

At work I use Paint.net I think this is way easier to use then GIMP, but then I'm used to Photoshop and it's a lot like Photoshop.

Very nice tutorials on their forums as well. I've used a few of them with great success.

I also have Photoshop CS3 at home that I use.

GIMP and photoshop are almost the same thing except gimp has the buttons in a different order... otherwise it is almost the same

Yeah, I don't know....I just can't get GIMP to do what I can do in Photoshop. Just can't seem to find what I need so I stopped using it.
