What's the point of sites like Digg? I just signed up today and dugg the CES review that Quake posted, but what's the point of it all?

LOL, I believe Digg view on this would be likely to share interesting articles/news or such based on the viewers rating. You get "filtered" quality content instead of reading tons of uninteresting things. You can share stuff you find interesting too, so other users can read it.

The only problem with it in my opinion is the viewers. Lots of pretty crappy stuff gets Dugg and Digg becomes just like surfing any other search engine or almost...

the more people digg it, the more it will show in search engine and flood them with it, and Xorn is right its a free ad place...

if the more people digg such our review in HL the more it will show up in Google and like sites every time they search topics that is related to the review...

Rather than searching for links to stuff you may want to read about on Google, you can go to that site and see user submitted links...
