| I'm Diggin it!
| Our faithful dog of 15 years is very ill. She's in renal failure mode with blood coming out both ends. ![]() My wife and I are leaving here shortly to have our dog Kimi put down. Man, this is tougher than I thought it was gonna be. I'll miss seeing that orange furball moving about the house, always underfoot. | Had to put my cat Churchill to sleep after he ate a poisoned rat. His blood was thinning out after consuming the said rat. Was the saddest day of my life. But that was like when I was 12 years old at the time. | We're back home now. Funny how I thought I was going to be there just to help my wife deal with the whole thing. I ended up shedding a couple of tears myself. It was a very peaceful experience. They gave Kimi a shot of Demerol, which put her out of her pain within about 5 minutes. It was joyous to see her totally out of pain for the first time in about 2 years, but as you can imagine, bittersweet. I have always loved animals. Not the tree hugging, PETA financing type of love. But a pet, especially a dog, is so loyal and loving regardless of your mood that when you've had one for this long, it's tough to see them go. I'm just glad she isn't in pain any more. I'm also quite thankful to have a wonderful wife who is intelligent and down to earth, not the type to drag this dog's life out until it was a miserable existence. Some folks will say, "It's only a dog for crying out loud." To those I say, don't have pets. | sorry to hear :( we have this cocker spaniel. his name is corky. he's like 16 going on 17 this spring. when he was younger he was run over by a tractor and it shattered his hip. my dad says he doesnt like him cause when he's in the house, he pee's on everything, but i really think he likes him. my dad's always saying "the old bastard refuses to die" and i tell him "because he's doing it to spite you" i really like corky and hope i get to see him at least one last time before he goes. i think he really needs to be put down. especially with that bad hip and corresponding arthritis. plus and he only has a dozen teeth at most. :( E8400 @ 4ghz (500x8 @ 1.35v) Gigabyte X38-DQ6 2x2GB G-Skill DDR2 1000 @ DDR2 1000 5-5-5-15 2.1v 2 Sapphire ATi Radeon HD3870 in Crossfire Seagate 7200.11 500GB 32MB Cache HDD Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Silverstone DA750 Samsung Dual Layer DVD Burner Lian Li G70WB Thermochill PA120.3|Swiftech Storm Rev.2|Swiftech MCP 655 | ||||||||||||||

| sorry to hear that man, but glad it went well. My dog was hit by someon 2 years ago, thank God he lived, and was fine, but the amazing part is he was hit by a subaru at 55mph head on and got only a cut. Of course he acted dopey for a few days, glad that didn't last.. Anyways, i hope things work out for you. | ||||||||||||||
