| Well, it's back off to the salt mines for me. I haven't worked since the middle of June, and I spent a lot of the interim moving and setting up shop here in NM, and actually had some time to just hang out until I got some work lined up. Well, now I've got the job part taken care of, and I start tomorrow (8/14). I somehow managed to get into the Pepsi Bottling Group, and I'll be driving a delivery truck and pulling down $18/hr, which is very good here. :pepsi: The work is local, M-F in the day , which is just what I wanted! This opportunity is going to make for a real good life here, and we'll even have a shot a buying a house, which is not something you can do in California. If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |

| Functional Alcoholic | Buying a house is definitely the way to go. It will cost you just as much to buy and it does to rent most of the time. Sometimes it's even cheaper. |

| Very true. Often times rent payments to the building company or mortgage payments to the house company cost more monthly than payments back to your bank from a loan. It's just like buying a car - chances are it would be more worth while to get a loan for the full amount from your bank, and pay THEM with THEIR interest rather than the dealership. |

| At the moment, the rent we're paying for our apartment is easily what a mortgage would be anyway, and maybe - depending on what we get - more than a mortgage payment might be. The area we moved to has a lot of good deals to offer, and if we want to, we can even buy a custom home with not a lot more hassle than what's involved in buying a hoiuse as it is, with the exception of waiting for it to be built. In any case, we'll be doing a lot better here than in Cali. If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
