Update on the house

Here's a quick down and dirty.

Got a check from the insurance company made out to us and the mortgage company. That should drop into an escrow account later this week. The mortgage company will then pay us 1/3 up front to get construction started. We've found a contractor with a good reputation who has been building homes in the area for 25 years. He estimates 3 months or so to have the house rebuilt back to it's original condition. We have been doing a good bit of the demo ourselves to save money so we can put those funds back into the house for upgrades. So I've not been around much due to that. Been really tired as you all can imagine!

In the next week or two, things should settle down a bit as the contractor gets into the house. Thank you all again for all the help and support. Wish us luck!

i hope everything goes well (i was gonna say "blows over well"...but...nvm).

im glad you guys are getting slowly back on track and everything seems to be getting better. sure, it will take some time, but its getting there, keep up the will and the good work! hope to hear only good news from here on in!

Quakindude, be sure to post pics as the construction beings, also make sure you wire the house with CAT6 so you can get full gigabit LAN function

Good luck with the house rebuilding and health issues. You seem like a strong, focused individual so I'm sure you'll keep moving forward with good results. What kind of upgrades are you looking to implement in your Rev. 2 house?

Well, this is certainly great news, Quake! Quick question: are you having the house rebuilt on the same foundation, or is it being moved to a different area?
