Default Update

The house is about 90% complete. I'll be taking some pictures in the next few days to show. Our flooring goes in at the end of this week and right after that, we start moving stuff into the house. We've already been busy moving some of the smaller stuff into the garage, but will really get into it in the next week or so.

Its been a long travel to get to this point and we sure do appreciate all the well wishes and everything everyone has given us. When I get a chance, I'll update this thread some more. Right now though, we are so friggin busy it isn't even funny. Hopefully I'll get some time to sit down and give more info tonight.

Thanks go out to Phosphorus for making me a spiffy new sig! Thanks brother, ya did an awesome job!

Really glad to hear how smooth everything is going for you guys and hope it only gets better. Like Joker asked, the insurance is kinda important in this whole picture - how's it coming along? I hope well.

Also, that sig isn't bad at all!

The insurance is all worked out for the most part. Our pool will be the last issue we have with them. Right now they are allowing $11k for repairs and the cheapest/most reputable quote I've managed is $12.5k.

We've pretty much resigned ourselves, some number of weeks ago, to the fact we'll have to fight for every dollar with this company. Once everything is said and done, we'll be switching insurance companies. There's two that have done every well customer service wise in the local area. Alfa is the #1 company and Cotton States has done pretty well as the other. Since we have a local Alfa office, I will move our business there.

Thank you PackRat. But I am active Army and currently have USAA. They have been the cause of all my problems as well as those of every one of my neighbors who have them. Just do a search for Tornado in the forums and you'll learn the whole story.

I will never again use USAA for anything but my car insurance. That much they had done in no time. The house insurance, forget it.

Good to hear it!

You will always have trouble with insurance companies when it's time to pay under the circumstances you are in. Last I heard, 90% in a disaster area is good return. Still 90% is pretty good.

I hope the new home suites ya!

Better have a testing lab in there!
