UFO Sighting In Salt Lake City?

Is it a rocket? Is it a blimp? Is it a UFO?

A strange object seen in the skies above in Salt Lake City has residents scratching their heads.

What appears to be a huge air balloon was seen floating above the valley Wednesday morning.

The silver, rocket-shaped craft was sighted about 8 a.m. and floated about for several minutes before disappearing.

Salt Lake Air Traffic Control said they didn’t pick up the object on radar and had no knowledge of the craft.

They will be looking into the sighting to see if any air traffic rules were violated.

Zeppelin, either privately owned or something built by one of the many air manufacturers out there. A definite UFO, as all zeppelins are marked with registration numbers easily visible or a company name, which means it's probably a private vessel that some rich guy was taking out for a stroll. The fact air control didn't pick it up is common, zeppelins and air balloons are made of fiberglass composites now.

The outer skin of dirigibles and zeppelins are commonly covered with material that is trackable by air traffic controllers. You don't need metal for radar to work correctly. You merely need radar waves to reflect from the surface of an object and be transmitted back to the receiver.

If anything, it might be the shape of the airship that may have caused it to be undetectable, as well as perhaps what the outer skin was composed of, such as RAM that is commonly found on F-117's.

Air traffic controllers at Salt Lake City International Airport did not pick up the object on radar and were unaware of what was generating the UFO buzz. Officials say it is possible that federal air traffic regulations were violated and charges are possible against the owner of the blimp.

Poor guys blimp lost power and just drifted along. The thing was only about 20 feet long. I like the part about what "officials" say. Officials by nature frequently tend to be idiots who over react. Looking at the video it did not look to have much altitude which may explain why it was not picked up on radar.
