Default Tom's Status

Long story short, I've had some medical issues. Went in the hospital five times now in the last two weeks for severe headaches. No more bleeds or anything, but headaches still.

The Army, with my having 18 years and 247 days in service, have decided to medically board me. This means forced medical retirement and disability. Overall, it will mean more money for me paycheck wise for the rest of my life, but I was hoping to stay on active duty for a few more years. Well, that ain't gonna happen. The Army now knows, after my last few trips to the hospital, about my left side weakness, spatial orientation issues with my left side, balance issues, and my personality changes.

The next few weeks are already a blur of doctor's appointments. I'm not extremely sure how it will all turn out, but look forward to anyone here with experience to chime in. Rich has already given some invaluable stuff so far. If he wants to come to Alabama, I'll give him a boat ride, go fishing and he can try to bork his back on our tube.

Anyway, my retirement is now for certain and my life uncertain. I'm a little worried about the whole thing, and getting exhausted just thinking of all I need to do to get ready for it. I may have the worst luck in the world, but I also have the worst luck which is actually good luck. I came down on orders for Korea with a return to Stewart. That would have meant going to Iraq again. NO THANKS! So now that this wheel is rolling, I wonder what's written on the spokes?

LOL Yeah he cussed me out for playing a joke on him. I honestly think this will be better for you. You still get to retire, just a little sooner.

The only advice I can give you, and it's been given before, is to document and make copies of EVERYTHING before your medical records are archived.
Ensure you get some representation prior to doing the whole VA thing for compensation and again, make copies, and store in a safe place EVERYTHING. Can't stress that enough.

When you go to the VA, they will ask you to list every-single-injury-you've-ever-received while in.
It would be to your advantage to sit down now and write
down everything you can remember, and make sure it is
documented in your medical records. If it isn't, it never happened...
Not kidding here, even a broken finger or a ripped toe nail
can be important to your well being both in medical aid
and fiscal compensation in the future.

When they 'award' you a percentage of disability, immediately
get your appeal paperwork together (get certified copies)
and file an appeal. Get legal help on this as well. You have one year
from the date of award to file an appeal or forever hold you
peace, and it can take anywhere from 1-2 years for a response.
Even if you're thinking 'fair play' and don't feel you should appeal,
do it anyway. I speak from experience here, don't screw yourself
out of what you are due and have earned honorably.

Heya Quake ... real sorry for your strain man.

Has there been any diagnosis as to what you have?

"Heavy metal poisoning?" --- USE EDTA to remove heavy metal poisoning.
http://www.amermed.com/cgi-bin/shop....&ud=&storeid=1

Be careful with this stuff ... it removes metals from your bod ... that includes calcium! So be over nutrified before taking it ... take no mineral supps while taking it ... take for only 3 days at a time. Curious side effect is that it also cures arteriosclerosis.

"Radiation poisoning?" --- USE zeolite clinoptilolite --- this is what they used in Chernobyl.
