| "you smell sumthin"? | I just gotta tell ya how damn good the sweet corn is I bought today at a local vendor. The last crap I bought was just that...crap. The freekin plums the wife got from the loacal market are from California and as big as an apple! Unreal man! Fruit this year is outstanding from what I have seen thus far,and I hope it keeps going that way. Our garden is spawning some awsome vegies and my habanero plants are NICE! | Yea we got a good crop here in Iowa this year too. Farmers markets all over the place here and corn is pretty cheap. |

| Colonel Calamity | A lot of the base fruits and veggies are actually lower in price this year or same as last year due to a decent amount of moisture across much of the US (but the gas prices are keeping them from getting too low)... Idaho got some mid spring snows and summer rains so potatoes should be fairly cheap (a friend may be sending me some 2-3 pound potatoes) ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | oh noes | Of course, this year is the one that my families decides to not plant our garden (we have 7 raised beds in our backyard that are just amazing for growing squash and zuchini, and do pretty good at growing tomato's and peppers. Ever see a 3 foot long zuchini? They're pretty crazy, lol. Not good for much other than zuchini bread though. ). Oh well. Hopefully next year we devote a bed to corn though.... home grown corn was nice... i miss it. ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |
