Sweaty Chinese dude electrocuted by his pooter

How many times have we seen folks here post about leaving the side off their computers so the CPU won't get so hot in the summer time?

Wow...

If i had to open the case with the power on, it would definitely be on a desk and safely away from any part of my body or anything else...simple precautions and this dude would've still been alive...just goes to show you how things are under-thought sometimes.

The guy should be submitted for the Darwin Awards.

But yes, I agree. The common misperception is that you are well protected even with the side cover off your computer. Couple of beads of sweat tho....Bssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst!

If I open my case or touch anything while its on, I make sure my hands and arms are 100% dry.

I'm curious why he had his bare legs up against the internal wires
to begin with. Gives a whole new meaning to Computer SeXors.

Unless he was licking the internal parts, I'd find a Darwin submittal to be on the harsh side. I can now count on one finger how many times I've heard of someone being electrocuted by opening their PC's chassis.

Wish the article had more details, I'd be interested in knowing exactly what part his sweaty leg touched that ended up taking his life. It was just a few weeks ago that Garetjax double dog dared me to lick my fingers and touch the wireless fan controller inside the reviewed Alienware system while turned on.

I am sure they left out the part where the guy was most likely doing something stupid besides opening a case while its on.... Natural Selection at its finest.

Poor guy though.

These two statements, when read separately, are exactly why I think he should at least be nominated. However, there are enough rednecks here in Alabama to take the actual award. I may even be related to one or two of them.
