| I'm surprised we don't have a Spidey thread yet. What did you guys think? I thought it was just stuck with filler (that 20 minutes of him dancing was totally unnecessary). I thought Topher Grace didn't fill out Venom (kept imagining him as Eric from That 70's Show). It still kicked ass since it's Spidey, but basically the last battle scene was the most intense part. I also learned I'm a terrible kisser from this movie... ![]() ![]() ![]() - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| I caught the midnight showing on thursday with all the other nerds. I loved it. It's not much different from the previous two and thats ok by me. The fights were spectacular, especially Harry getting close lined. The dance scene was a little ridiculous, and the origin story for Venom was a little bit of a cop out. I mean it came to Earth the same way as every other alien in every other movie. I know they can't send Spidey to another planet like in Secret Wars, but come on, the cartoon version in the 90's had a good take on the Venom origin. I think the simplistic approach actually worked in the long run as it allowed for more character interaction. SPOILERS * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The break up between MJ and Parker was really well done in my opinion, this is where the movies have always had their strong point. Sam Raimi puts alot of stress and heart ache on Spidey/Parker. I liked having Gwen Stacey around, though I'm a little dissapointed that Peter was using her rather than genuinly dating her. In the books he really loved her and her death had a devasting impact on his future decisions. I'm dissapointed that she was not killed either (no really, I like her better than MJ but it makes for good drama!). I thought for sure they'd end up back on the bridge with the Goblin chucking MJ on one side and Stacey one the other. I really hope there's a sequel, and I really hope her hot blonde butt is in it again. I'm not crazy about having sympathetic villains every time, but I did like it this go round. I'm not sure what to think of Sandmans end game here, don't know if he's coming back, don't know if I want him back. I figured Harry would end up fighting the good fight by the end, but I didn't expect him to get waxed in doing so. I honestly wanted to see MJ go to him and Gwen end up with Peter. Bruce Campbell gave the performance of his life as the maitre de'. That was friggin hilarious. |

I can't imagine how much work went into rendering the Sandman scenes, they had so many little particulates to put together. I thought Venom was cool looking, though you're right when you say he's not quite as big as the version from the books. | |

| I watched Spiderman 3 last friday, and....IT SUCKED!!! THERE WAS BARELY ANY ACTION!!!!! AHH!!!! I WANNA SEE SOME ROUNDHOUSE KICKS AND BLOOD SPEWING UPPERCUTS!!! I was so excited to see it, but when I saw that it was mostly lubby-dubby bullcrap, I choked. The only good Spiderman movie I've seen is the first in its series, the rest cannot compare. Gosh, I am so disappointed in the director for making this horrible movie and myself for wasting 8 bucks. |

| Modder-ator | The two people I talked to that have seen it both weren't too impressed. By the sound of everyone else's comments here it looks like their first impressions were pretty accurate. I'll wait for it on DVD... |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | I watched it last night.....thought it was pretty good. They could have broken it up into two movies.....seems like they tried to do too much......it was too long with a lot of scenes that could and should have been clipped.......the special effects were awesome....and the reason i've always liked the Spidey movies, they have a moral point to them INTEL E8400 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 4GB DDR3-1600 // Palit HD 4870 // Antec 1200 // Seagate 750GB HDD // Zalman CNPS9700 // BFG ES 800W PSU |

I myself was disappointed to see the Gwen Stacy storyline not get used nearly as much as it could have. I also dislike Venoms "entrance" to the movie, as Dean mentioned, the Saturday morning cartoon had a nice plot that could have been used. Eddie Brock just looked WIMPY. The CB version is buff and Venom amplify that already massive amount of power. Multiply the movies versions power and your not even close to Spidermans level of strength. Other then that I loved the movie. I particularly liked how the first action scene was only about 20 minutes in.
