Default Soldier get Stitches (PICS)

Today one of the guys in my unit got a gash in his head from a cammo net pole that came crashing down. They brought him into the Aid Station to get stitches. I just happened to be around so I got some pictures.

ow that looks like it hurt just a little...

actually when I had a gash in the side of my head similar to that, it didn't start hurting until several hours later

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I wonder what he ran into to get that. I assume he ran into something since shrapnel usually leaves burn marks behind when it cuts people.

Back in the day when I was in the 160th SOAR, we were doing a hot off-load from a C-5. As the helicopter was coming down the ramp, an Airforce loadmaster was walking up the ramp chewing out one of his airmen at the same time. Smack! His forehead went right into the trailing edge of a stabilator, damn near scalping him. He took over 50 stitches in his head for that little lapse of judgment.

YEOW!! That had to hurt!!

Poor chap! I hope he feels better soon! Makes me feel better that I'm not a soldier, and instead am a computer repairman/crewmember at McD's (even if I do burn or cut myself from time to time ).

I am pretty good friends with the Medical NCOIC so he called me over when they brought this guy in. He got smacked with an aluminum cammo pole with sharp edges. Plus the dumb A$$ wasn't wearing his helmet, come to find out. IMO he was lucky to only need 6 stitches. This was there first time I had ever seen someone get stitches. I am used to seeing injuries before they get medical treatment, which is allot nastier. I just though you guys would enjoy some pictures of stuff you don't see every day.

He is wearing Gortex Pants Genius; you don't wear a belt with Gortex Pants. Just like a SPC, quick to correct with out assessing the situation.
