On February of this year, I made the following comments:

Garetjax mentioned in that same thread that we had just gone over 300 members in January.

Later on in that same thread, I made the following comments:

We have a total of 633 members at this time. And still, I've seen no assholioness.

Amazing....but not surprising. This place pulls in mostly mature folks.

Holy hell, and we just grew to more than twice that in less than two months. That's crazy. =)

Wow! 600+ members? Cool

Well, I see it like this...HL is like a small town, where there are people you can actually get to know and trust, and where you can feel at home. Other similar forums (OverclockersForums, for example, with a population around 50,000 so I'm told), are more like a large city where you don't necessarily feel that way. You start to feel lost in the crowd. Growth is good, but I think there's something to be said for smaller numbers too.

You guys being seriously entertaining aside....we have a fantastic base of people here....from our staff to longtime members and contributing writers there is a lot of knowledge to be found here.

Something that I hope separates us from other forums/sites is the attitude. I don't see a lot of "assholiness" (my new favorite word). I see a lot of really nice people, who really care.

Another thing I think that makes HL stand out is our focus, helping introduce new members into the enthusiast community.....we also post a lot of content from other sites....making sure you get the best information possible.

We just have to keep it going guys, hopefully we'll rub off on others.
