Default She was a teaze!!!!

Packed the kids up (all 4, and there ages 5 and under) and headed to Bestbuy yesterday to get a DVD/VCR combo gizmo.... so anyways, we are looking at the players and she turns to me and says, "wow" thats a really nice Plasma", wonder if it would fit in our entertainment unit?"..... My mouth dropped open (and I could care a less if it really fit ot not) and I worked up the nerver to ask if she wanted to get it because she is the cheapest person alive and is never in a buying mood.... so as im chaining the kids to one of those ladder thingys that they use to get the high items, and trying to flag down a sales rep to fire the Plasma into my mini van before she changes her mind.... she says..... well..... lets wait another year and then will come back , COME ON KIDS LETS GO HOME!!"........... man I love shopping :(

arrg..... what a tease she can be!!!!

You know, I don't recommend this to anyone. But my wife is the same way about anything to do with electronics. So last year, oddly enough, about two months before the tornado, I bought a 51" rear projection TV and brought it home. I set it up, had everything hooked up and running with her favorite show on TV when she got home from work. She was pissed when she first walked in, but within an hour, she was digging it pretty good. I looked over at her and mentioned that the only reason I did it without talking to her about it first was because she has a bad habit of just saying hell no to anything big like that.

After the tornado jacked up our new TV, she was wanting me to hurry up and buy a new big screen as soon as we got settled in the house. I had to slow HER down on it so I could wait for a sale where I got our new one for damn good money.

Alternatively, one of the guys from work went to one of the local rent a centers and rented a 60" TV for a week. He called it a "Family week of entertainment" and had his son bring his friends over and they played PS3, XBox and watched movies the whole weekend. The rest of the week, they used it for sports and other stuff. On the Thursday before he had to return it, he broke out the family videos and they watched home videos for a few hours. He never mentioned wanting to get a bigger TV or anything.

He took it back and by the end of the next week, his wife was showing him sales fliers out of the paper where they could buy a big screen TV.

i just buy whatever it is and deal with the repercussions afterwards. its easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

same here.... wife got mad that I spent a few dollars on getting her a new system setup... but now that shes using a E2140 compared to a 1.8 P4 system (thats on its last leg)... she is enjoying it (even if she won't admit it).

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I did this when I bought my first motorcycle and I spent a month on the couch. I got to know my hand well that month.

Yeah, my parents got hooked on big tv's... they got a 56in for our living room, which was pretty nice, and then after about a year they got a 55in Toshiba dlp tv for our upstairs family room, since they liked having a big screen so much, lol. Now I just need to get them to move our good surround sound system (a pretty good Yamaha unit) upstairs to go with the good tv, since they have the el cheapo pioneer system hooked up to it (well, it's cheap compared to the Yamaha, lol!)
