| I think that poster is from about 1939 or 1940. They changed the pack colors right after Pearl Harbor. | Colonel Calamity | haha good stuff.... my grandparents told us that up until the late 1950s, doctors and health officials used to tell people that smoking was good for you. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| I think your right. I remember my dad smoking them in the 50's and the pack was red and white. |

| 1942 Lucky Strike Package... "The recognized color for a package of Lucky Strike cigarettes had always been green, but in earnest as WWII began many items regarded as essential were rationed or restricted. The American Tobacco Company decided that green was an essential color and determined that they would modify the color of the package and use a slogan such as 'LUCKY STRIKE GREEN HAS GONE TO WAR.' Since those days the package has remained WHITE. If you already knew that, then you are an excellent history student or you actually remember those times of over 50 years ago." |

| Colonel Calamity | nothing new there, I live outside of Eglin AFB and the number of old people here (many of which are retired military from the Civil War) is just amazing. We have been thinking of moving to Florala just to be able to drive the speed limit. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |
