Default Rosie O'Dummy

Has anyone been keeping up with this idiots rantings and ravings? There's liberal thoughts and actions and then there's extremism. She's crossed the line. Just go to this link and listen to what that space cadet has said now. Scroll down a little bit to see the video. Her ugly mug can't be missed. She is so out of touch with reality, I really think she's mentally unstable.

This is a discussion about Rosie and her stupidity or if people think she's awesome. She's a traitor in my book, and just one plane trip away from being just like Jane Fonda.

I think its funny as hell watching her make a complete dumbf*** out of herself. Too be honest, I wonder why she is still alive, you'd think someone would have shot her by now.

No, you are quite correct. Rosie is a prime example of an individual with an axe to grind but does so in a negative way. It is my belief that because a) shes famous, b) has access to a large media audience, and c) a woman, it gives her the right to run her mouth any way she chooses. In an era where famous people endeavor to influence popular idealogy (Dixie Chicks come to mind) this kind of behavior is socially unacceptable and irresponsible. Quite frankly, I think that Rosie is one step removed from being as nosy, prone to finger pointing and self-righteous as Oprah is.

I will not debate politcal leanings but I think we can all agree that we have some real nut jobs out there. We have actors, sports figures, musicians, all trying to say what our political policies should be and the scarey part is the press treats them like authorities.

:dito: 100% Whats worse though, mind you it's just my .02, we vote these people in office. Yes I vote, but hind site is 20/20. I think if everyone would just take a big step back,,,,,,,,,,,,, and look at what happens,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then maybe we as a country could get somewhere. I'm not saying anything about right or wrong or left or right, but the BIG PICTURE. Maybe we ought to think about the good ole USA first and everyone else second. Again,JM.02. Thanks, Bailey.

I wasn't going to post here, but I had to say I agree with one point you made. And that is the fact that as a society, we do put way too much stock in what - we'll just lump them all into one big group, and call them famous people - say and/or do. This is largely due to the press giving these people too much camera/air time, but it's also the fault of people who put stock in what they say and/or do. I've read what Rosie said, and I've heard others make similar statements. Whether any of it is true or not is up for debate (not here), but the point is...Who gives a rat's a** what Rosie says? Last time I looked, she wasn't an elected official, and can't do anything about it anyway. I don't really see any benefit to her bringing it up...it's something best left for political talk shows, not hers.
BTW, did I mention I have always found Rosie offensive for some reason? I can't place just what it is...

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

It's called 'chasing the ratings'. All so-called celebs do it. Maybe her tv show is in the toilet, so she's gotta do something to get back into the spotlight before she sinks completely.

So - who cares? Not apathy, but really, who gives a darn what this bimbo thinks, says, or does? Just because she has a tv program - OOOoooo - she thinks she is some kind of authority. Pfui!

I agree with an earlier comment, but let me re-phrase it in another man's words; "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"

Well Tom, I do believe just about every response in this thread seems to acknowledge Rosie is at best on a good day an idiot. However, there is a scary side to things. Some people actually place stock in her nonsense. Yes, some people actually listen to her, and that is scary!

Whitecree points to a very good quote that I remember quite well being an old guy.

However, in the case of Rosie and many of her followers that quote is twisted to read:

"Ask not what you can do for your country but ask what your country can do for you"

That is the mindset preached by Rosie and her followers.
