Default Plausible Deniability? 3dGameman Rips off........

Quote:
I was doing my daily rounds across the net at various tech forums, when I came across this lovely tidbit over at Hardware Canucks. It would seem that there is some controversy arising over the validity of the images used in 3dGameman’s reviews. Check out the full forum thread over at HWC by clicking here. In the meanwhile, i had to do some investigating my self, turns out, the story is true. One of Hardware Canucks images from their Palit Radeon HD4870 512MB Graphics Card Review shows up at exactly 2:46 in 3DGameman’s review of the HIS HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 Video Card. To be certain of its matching, i even used photoshop to examine the images further. They are identical even down to shapes and tears in the thermal pads on the heatsink, to the position of the sticker on the cooling fan. Just have a look for yourself…

Yeah... this really sucks. Turns out he's done this with other sites too. Someone found a picture in another ATI review that was bogarted from techpowerup.

It's one thing if he (Rodney) had just said, "yeah, sorry. Let me give you credit for the pic. Cool?" But instead he flat out denies it and refuses to produce his so called "original photos".

and he's still denying. There's a rumor sayin he uses the images so he doesn't void the warranty when he resells the hardware he reviews.

Could be true, could be false. At any rate, stealing images is one thing, denying everything is another. You're caught, just spit it already.

Rodney is a douche. His video reviews are fraught with inconsistencies and bad information, along with erroneous product specifications that he never bothers to correct. It's ironic that this has come up; Hitman and I were just talking about this dweeb on Skype a couple of days ago...

its blatantly obvious that he copied the picture, cropped out HWC's watermark, and then added his own. to me its not enough to have his credibility destroyed (considering he apparently didnt have much to begin with in the first place) he needs to have his @ss handed to him in a courtroom. Sue him for the profits he made off of the review in question. whether monetary or site traffic or what have you. this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated from anyone in the review community.

Well, it's easy to see those who are corrupt and would hand out good notes/KICK ASS notes for a bit more money.

If you are going to use someones work, give them the credit they deserve.

I'm really bad about forgetting the watermark.....and this shows I shouldn't be.
