Default The Photo Thread

Went for a walk about a half hour ago and got some great shots of a Blue Heron.

What do y'all think, is it going to make it on the next National Geographic cover? lol

EDIT:
Posting some more pics, all taken with Canon Powershot A510 3,2MP camera:

lol. Probably not but those are some nice pictures. You must live in a pretty nice area if you can see herons on a half an hour walk.

That first pic of him standing on the end of the log kind of huddled up is a great pic.

The area is in the city (Sixth largest city in Canada), but I still get to see all kinds of wild life. Sometimes even night herons and cormorants during the summer.

I remember taking some cormorant photos with my 35mm film slr, will try to find them.

What is the sixth largest city? Now that I think about it, There is a park/forest near my house and I often see Great Blue Herons flying around the pond.

This is from right out my back door. All the Hummingbirds have migrated now though. I use a Sony DSC-H2 digital camera. I should add the conditions for this shot. I was inside my house, about 10 feet away from this feeder, leaning against the door jamb and taking the picture through a less than clean glass door. I was zoomed in as far as my camera would go (12X).

There's a small wooded area behind my house and we get deer, raccoons, hedgehogs, squirrels and possum.

Mississauga, it's in the GTA region west of Toronto.

Couldn't find the cormorant pictures, so much unsorted prints everywhere from my film camera. I think I'm going to have to finally organize them.

My digital files are easier to look through, found these that I took this summer.

Summer is a time to relax.
