| for some strange reason, i kind of understand why he did it. optimus prime was always a father figure to the rest of the autobots and had that low, growling, stern but calm voice some might imagine a father should sound like. i could understand that after losing his father, he might "latch" on to the cartoon character and make him his imaginary dad but you would figure he would have grown out of that stage by now. i'm assuming he's not married because the article doesn't mention it and most wives would hit their husbands up the head with a broom if they were to change their name to Optimus Prime. |

| so what is his point of changing his name to Optimus Prime? i dont get it! i hate my name, but i grew up and matured with it, and all i did and learned are part history of my name. i grew up being teased about my name coz its not your typical filipino name, and the similarity of pronouncing it to a traditional food in our country. but my name had been attributed to my achievements and hardships. i'm not really in to legal change of name. nvm. | Functional Alcoholic | Exactly, there are some very immature 30yos out there it's scary. Dude, you're 32 years old, you have thousands of dollars worth of RC cars, you play video games all day, you changed your name to Optimus Prime, you're a virgin and you live with your mother. Not to mention you're not even in the real Army. Does this make any sense to you at all man. |

| i don't know from personal experience, but i've noticed that some men who grew up without a father (father figure) have some social problems. i'm not saying all because i don't know that many, but the few that i do know have had trouble dealing with others. one of my better friends in the military would go nuts sometimes. he wasn't always cool to be around. the more i got to know him, he would admit to me that he did not know his father very well and while growing up, his dad would tell him that he would come pick him up or visit and end up not showing up. he explicitly blamed him father for a lot of things. |
