Talking One step closer to being debt-free!

I am one step closer to being debt-free, by paying off my Reader's Digest account with one final check! After that, it's just regular payments on my credit cards (but not each the same, MS Money 2004 tells me how much to pay each time [too bad 2005's version dropped the Debt Planner, as I liked the interface of the latest version! ] ). Both of them are MasterCard, and have about $2,000 Canadian worth of debt each to pay off.

For more about this, and to keep track of my progress, read my blog (link is my homepage).

Congrats! Unfortunately it's a problem that plagues a LOT of people. It's always nice to see someone able to get out of it.

So you owe about $20.00 U.S.?

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

this is why I do not have a CC... and the wife's 1 CC is used for emergencies only.. so if it isn't in the checking account or cash in hand, we don't get it...
of course my online computer purchases are done on that CC and then we just send a check to pay it off

keep the money close and you won't spend what you don't have

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I think it's worth using a credit card for everything just for the rewards if you can keep yourself in the mindset that you don't use it unless you can pay it off every month, which is what I do...

Even my other bills get paid with my CC :D

Hahahahaha....

Yea, with my new job, I can pretty much clear out my huge debt in a few months. It feels good to be free.

Speaking of CC debt and such, I was thinking about writing up a guide / review on CC and credit from personal experience that I've had. Wasn't sure if anyone would be interested seeing as this is a PC forum. I just figured what better way to help some of the younger members maybe with the experiences that I had. I PM'd Paul to see what he thought, but figured I'd ask here as well if anyone would even bother reading it.
