Oh where oh where to get a wii...

I've decided that I want a Wii.

Too bad Nintendo (although not half as bad as Sony) hasn't put enough Wiis into production yet to create at least 1 spare in every store. Last 3 weeks they've been sold out within the hour of opening at both Fry's and *shudder* Best Buy.

I checked Newegg, but all they have is an ass load of games for it. And lil stores like EB games only offers some horrendous bundle, with 2 or 3 games that I don't even want. making the bundle $100 extra.

And I refuse to get it from some online place like *shudder2* eBay. I haven't spent more than 15 bucks on one purchase there and I intend to keep it that way.

I googled some and found this page:

which listed a bunch of places where they could have it.

First one I've found is Amazon. But paying an extra $100 to have it now vs having it in a while is rediculus.

Anyone have any insider info (ie: a friend who works at some store) and knows when their shipments are? I called but the guy was like "Yea, you should just keep calling every day to see if we have one" but if I did that I would never get one. And I asked him if he knew when they were coming and he basically said the same thing (much why I shudder at the thought of Best Buy)

I'm really looking for one as well.

I have a cousin that works for BestBuy actually. Next time I talk to him I could ask him to have two ready if you'd like. Unfortunately, there's no telling when this will be.

Either way, if I find stock I'll update this thread same time.

haha, when i was looking for a wii in san diego with a friend, we couldn't find one to save our lives. after moving to imperial, i saw 3 at Target the last time i was there.

Well... I officially hate best buy even more.

2 days ago I called Best Buy and got to their 'customer service' rep. I said "Do you guys have any Nintendo Wiis available?" he said "one moment, I'll put you through to our game department" and so I go on hold for about 20 seconds and then I hear "click"
~dial tone~........................

I was like.... okay... I'll give them one more chance to get my business 3 strikes and they're out as they say.....(after 4 years of not buying anything from Best Buy (for those of you who don't know, it was a lieing sack of crap salesbitch who told me that my "Radeon 9800 LE was a top of the line card and would out perform most cards on the market for a few years." [this was before I knew anything about comps] and then, lo and behold, a simple old Radeon 9700 out performed it by about 1.2x.)

So yesterday I called Best Buy at around 5 or 6 and asked if they have any Wiis or know when they will get one. The guy said no and no.

Today I called after work, same time, around 5, and asked if they had any Wiis available. The guy said "No, we sold out of them very quickly."

I asked "When did you sell out?"

he said "About 3 hours after we got them in yesterday"

THE SON OF A B* ON THURSDAY LIED TO ME. STRAIGHT TO MY EAR.

Long story short....

Best Buy

That guy in the Video Game Department thursday, and

Best Buy

that doucherammer who ripped me off with the 9800LE 4 years ago, and

Best Buy a 3rd time.

I am now officially boycotting best buy. Just like Time Warner

I'd rather wait another week to see if Fry's gets them than buy one at Best Buy.

Dood, simmah down! We all have horror stories when it comes to Best Buy, which, with a name like that, is more of an oxymoron that anything else... however I digress.

The point is that Best Buy is a sordid establishment that tends to hire ignorant employees who know nothing about technology. In either case, dry your eyes, blow your nose and keep your nose to the grindstone. Before you know it, with a little paitence one will turn up where you least expect it.
