New X-Files movie!

`X-Files' creator spills film details - Yahoo! News

Original series was great for a time (and Gillian was quite the looker too). Then Carter & Co wrote themselves into a corner, inventing more and more storylines and creating all kinds of puzzles and mysteries that they NEVER explained, although all along they insisted they would.

So TEN YEARS after the first movie they're releasing another one? And it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the alien mythology arch. I might see it on cable if it had anything to do with explaining all the Fox Mulder stuff, but it seems it doesn't.

Does this seem like a last-ditch cash grab?
Who do they think will pay to see this movie?

Hopefully I'm not the only one in HL-land who "wants to believe"

yes it is a cash grab... and only the die hard fans of the series will see it... I bet it will bomb terribly...

Oh god, I think this franchise ran its self into the ground a long time ago. It was in entertaining TV show, but I get the feeling they want it to be like the next never ending, undying "Star Trek" type of thing...

I doubt I will waste my money seeing this movie.
