Well, it's been a month and a half since I ventured forth into what was to be a concrete future. With high hopes I arrived at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. At first I was completely miserable, but everyone else was too, so I didn't worry too much, and after a week or so I had become used to the tedium and stress. Everything changed, however, when I was called back to processing on a Monday morning. The gentleman I spoke with had been doing some more thorough background checks due to the sensitivity of my job (Space Systems Operations) and wanted to ask about the counseling I had undergone as a child. I gave him a few vague answers until he asked point blank if I'd ever been diagnosed with ADD. I had to say yes (lest it come back to bite me in the ass later). As it turns out, ADD is a Disqualifying Condition. I hadn't disclosed it in my enlistment papers because I hadn't taken medication for so long, but they didn't care. They had me talk to a psychologist who determined that I was distressed (who wouldn't be in that situation) and claimed I still exhibited symptoms of ADD (probably true, but who cares if I was one of the better trainees despite these alleged symptoms?). Anyways, to make a long story short, they took me out of training and put me in a holding dorm for three weeks with a bunch of whiny bitches who wanted out, people who had become injured, and a few other people like me getting separated against their will. The discharge was a neutral "Entry Level Separation" neither good nor bad, but I'm home, and all my plans have gone to ****.

Like I said, at first I was furious, but as I realized that there was nothing I could do I came to terms with it. I had already gotten a lot out of the training. I realized a lot of the mistakes I was making in life, and a lot of the things I had been taking for granted, so I feel much more prepared to take on civilian life than I was before, and I'm really looking forward to a second chance at it.

I've been out of the loop so long! It looks like the site is doing great! I'm going to have to make a motherboard purchase pretty soon, and I'm sure there's a bunch of new stuff, so I'll need some advice for that in the next few days. Anyways, I've missed chillaxing with you guys, and it's good to be back!

Damn dude, sorry to hear about the "Entry Level Separation". That sucks to get all prepared for a new life journey only to get denied access!

Oh man Drew, as much as we missed having you around, I'm sorry it didn't work out as planned for you. Sounds like you still got what you needed out of the experience though, and that's something that they can't take away from you.

On a positive note, it's great to have you back! Although it sucks that it's because of ADD - that means we all lose the pool. We each had to pick an emoticon that best described why you'd be home early, and here's the breakdown:
