Default Miss Nevada

Tonight I was reading the news over at Fox, and was really ticked off by this article:

FOXNews.com - Disgraced Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees Asks for a Second Chance After Being Stripped of Her Crown

While she probably was having too much fun, and probably realized that some opportunistic scumbag would be there with a camera, did she really do anything that terrible? I'd be willing to bet we have all done things we regret, and being willing to bet that at some point in our lives, we've all gotten a second chance. They want to penalize this woman over some pics....but don't want to fire Miss USA, who had cocaine in her system and had even worse pics than this....while she was Miss USA!!!! I'm glad they didn't take her crown, but how much of a double standard is this?

My letter to Fox News:
Quote:
Isn't "DISGRACED" a just a little extreme? A young woman, was at a party a long while ago and was having fun....who cares? I'd be willing to bet there have been times in all our lives when we were having a great time, but had there been a camera there we'd be pretty damned embarrassed. Did she hurt anyone? Did she cheat people out of their retirements? Did she make a mess out of Iraq? Did she sexual molest any alter boys? No, she did nothing that most 20 yr old girls and boys haven't done.....
I'm embarrassed by the US media. The Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Tara Conner, and this incident show just how hypocritical we all are.
Disgraced? Hardly!!! A disgrace is our government (Libs and Cons), our media, and people like Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell, not a 20 yr old woman having fun at a party long ago.

Its not just celebrities, its people in general.....I think we're all a bit judgmental, and the fact of the matter is we all make mistakes.......Is this THAT big a deal, that a young person's life should be tarnished by some pics of her having fun? I mean, Kate Moss had pics of her snorting cocaine and got a second chance......look at these CEOs swindling millions from people who spend 20 yrs making them rich......Look at these politicians padding their pockets at the expense of tax payers.....then tell me this girl doesn't deserve a second chance!

Holy hell. You pretty much hit the nail on the head, Rich. There is a specific reason why watching network news with the tripe that airs on FOX and MSNBC makes me loathe to even bother tuning in any more. Everything on the news is negative these days. Everything is about the next and newest biggest scandal; everything is given in a sarcastic, insinuating-insulting manner that belies what real journalism is supposed to be: unbiased and unopiniated reporting.

Honestly, the only joy I get out of news anymore is catching Andy Rooney on CBS once in awhile.

I saw that at another forum (pics included ). Anyways, I agree with you Rich. I think it's really stupid that someone should be revoked their achievements for something they did 2 years ago. That's total bull. Everyone makes mistakes. It's even worse when you're a celebrity.

Damn society....

You're not missing that much, most of the uncensored pics don't show anything. They just censored them to make it appear like there is something more to them.
