It's just a fact that the majority of our nation, and the armed forces are of the Christian persuasion, you're going to be exposed to it just because of this. Am I saying that he wasn't pressured? Nope, could very well be that he has some assholes in his unit. Is it an Army policy or are these kinds of things 'encouraged'? Hell no. This guy is an idiot. It's in the constitution, the right to hold a meeting to discuss atheism while you're deployed in Iraq? o_O "He says the sergeant explained that Hall would be "unable to put aside his personal convictions and pray with his troops" and would have trouble bonding with them if promoted to a leadership position." Man doesn't that sound like bullshit, whether it's true or not that the sergeant said that. To me, by reading the whole article, it seems like the guy is trying to make some money or get publicity. If all that is true, then he handled the situation like an idiot. The part that seems to do the most sense in there is: "The Pentagon has said that the military values and respects religious freedoms, but that accommodating religious practices should not interfere with unit cohesion, readiness, standards or discipline." Gotta hate those one sided stories.  If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | ||||||||||||||
