| Colonel Calamity | I liked their early 80s music but once it got into the mid 80s and later... they should have just done what most others did... disappear and be happy living off the royalties from music of theirs that was actually good. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Functional Alcoholic | You're about a decade off. Metallica formed in 1981, and in the mid 90's and later was when they started going down hill. |

| lol @ 70s. ...And Justice For All is an amazing album that I think is relevant today. Unfortunately after that the act just started rolling downhill. =( | E8400 @ 4.0GHz | Zalman 9700NT | Maximus II Formula | 4GB OCZ Reaper HPC | GTX260 | Corsair HX-520 | Antec 1200 | NZXT Sentry LX | RAID 0 | Vista x64 Ultimate | | E7200 @ 4.0GHz | Scythe Ninja Cu | P5W DH Deluxe | 2GB Ballistix | 7600GT | Seasonic 550HT | Antec P180B |Vista x64 ultimate | |Optiplex 755 | C2D E2180 | 4GB DDR2 | Radeon 2400 | | Latitude D830 |T7500 | 2GB DDR2 | NVS140 |15.4" | | 20" Dell LCD | 2x 19" Dell LCDs | Logitech Z-2300 | | Dual ISP Gigabit Network | |

| Functional Alcoholic | Oh yes that is by far one of my favorite albums of all time. Although I did really like the Black Album, I have to agree that was when they started to sell out, and became the end of the hardcore metal band we all loved to piss our parents off with in the 80's. |

| I'm Diggin it! | Loved Metallica in the 80's. Hitman had it right when he said we loved to piss our parents off with that music. I still listen to the Black Album a bit, but I think the author of the article in Capper's link has the situation nailed. @ Metallica. Better to disappear into obscurity known for how you were at the top of your game than die a slow, painful death that evidently, only you will be interested in. | I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Metallica really peaked during the late 50s with their unique twist on doo-wop, but I haven't cared to listen to them much since then. Threatening the bloggers with a lawsuit won't suddenly make them a relevant band again. |

| Colonel Calamity | exactly... if anything it will add to people dislike of any music from them, not just new music ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |
