The only techno I could ever get into was Daft Punk.

Try some good heavy or death metal, like In Flames or Firewind. Or if speed metal is your poison, try DragonForce.

KMFDM
God Lives Underwater
Fear Factory

-this is as close to techno as I get.

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

Not sure if you are looking for Dance Club style techno or rock style techno or what, but The Crystal Method is decent.

Crystal Method is the shiznit. Have two of their albums. It is also worth noting that Fluke is also similar to the style and composition of Crystal Method. I reccomend the "Risotto" album.

As far as true trance/dance goes, I would probably have to say the following:

1. Menno de Jong
2. Paul van Dyk
3. Airbase
4. Jonas Steur
5. Armin van Buuren
6. Matt Hardwick
7. Tiesto

If you want a taste of some of these artists, check out THIS LINK. You will have to register first, but you can download free MP3's of all kinds of dance/techno/trance, free of charge.
