A man charged with embezzlement here in Iowa killed his wife and 4 kids and they think himself. < Awaiting a autopsy of a burned body found in his van.

I heard about that earlier today - but they hadn't yet found the guy.

You know, its one thing to be stupid enough to steal from your employer, but why did he have to take it out on the kids and the wife too? It just rips my heart out when I hear about the little innocents who Daddy (or Mommy) decides have to die. What kind of parent could EVER do that to their kids?

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time, but if you get caught at least be man enough, no, human enough, to take your lumps for YOUR crime. Don't take the kids down with you. Taking a life (outside of imminent danger/wartime) is about the worst thing you can do (IMO), but killing a kid is just too much. I'm sure the Devil is roasting the dude on his pitchfork about now.

as a parent, i could not imagine hurting my son. how someone could kill their own children is beyond comprehension.

Here's an update. This guy called in the 911 call after he killed them all.

i saw this show about this guy that went into a depression and killed his two little kids. stabbed them to death and then called the police. they interviewed him in jail and he just said "I was in a dark place at that time"

.... um, ya think? its crazy how this could happen and people just snap. is it a chemical imbalance in the brain that allows them to do the worst possible act to their own families?

For anyone of sound mind it is incomprehensible how a parent could murder their own children, yet in a coarsening US culture it seems to be more and more commonplace. Andrea Yates comes to mind as well as several others. No, I just don't understand it or "get it".

The roll of the parent is supposed to be to nurture and protect their young, not to murder their young. I can't fathom what could possibly drive a parent to do any harm to a child, let alone kill them.

Update. The kids were adopted. Not that it matters but I wonder if it made any difference to this idiot.
