A 70 year old man dies in his apartment, and his
neighbors don't think to at least check on him once?

Funny that his neighbours never noticed the smell, but I guess you can put that down to being lost in the general smell of a large mega-city like NY.

Sad, as it shows how cheap we are beginning to hold human life.

Hallways in New York smell like curry. I have been to apts in New jersey, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhatten and every damn one of them smelled like curry! You could hide a whole country of dead people in the smell.

Just saw this on the news this morning. Only reason he was found, was because of the huge ice jam showing on the front of the house, after a pipe had burst in the home.

The article mentions that he was 'preserved' from the dry air in the apartment (think mummified), so there may not have been any real odor at all. Or at least not enough to arouse the curiosity of the surrounding apartments.
