Default iPod Equalizer

When I choose the bass booster setting on my iPod, I get so much distortion compared to my speakers. I know it's a horrible comparison, but to help, I don't use the iPod headphones. I'm using the Creative headphones that came with my bro's Audigy 2 ZS.

Any ideas on the best setting for improved bass without distorting?

How about not turning it up until your ears bleed?

I don't turn it up all the way. It's actually around half way.

That still sounds pretty loud to me. I can't speak for the iPod, but most devices are too loud if you go past 1/3.

Yes. Don't buy an iPod. One of the reasons why I think iPods are a waste of money is the fact that they don't utilize a custom band EQ in their MP3 players like Creative and many others do in theirs. With that said, you might want to check out Headphone Amplifiers. With one of these, they can help clean up your signal from your MP3 player and improve the way your cans push your music.

But yeah, as someone mentioned earlier, your best bet for better sounding bass from headphones is to invest in a decent pair of cans. I would reccomend you take a look this website as it gives you some great information about decent priced cans (by budget) that are not overly expensive but sound great.
