| oh noes | I saw it on Thursday. Didn't think it was quite as good as the last crusade (that was the third one, right?), but it was pretty darn close. I defiantly thought it was worth seeing. ![]() e8500@4ghz|Asus P5k-e WiFi| 4gb OCZ ReaperX|2x 3870's|1.3tb storage space|MSI tv tuner. |

| Functional Alcoholic | I would like to see it, probably have to wait until it's on DVD, if it's like the other Indiana Jones movies that should be some time in 2028. BTW Raiders of the Lost Ark, was by far the best one. |

| F Ucn rd dis U mst uzUNIX | I'm feeling like Drew here. If it's better than my low expectation, I'll be fine. I see the previews having Michael Bay level CGI, and a Michael Bay actor....so I'm not really willing to think it's going to work beyond a Michael Bay attention span killer. I see the lone hope being Harrison, but doesn't seem very excitable in the previews. Probably some past punchlines like hating snakes or something...but I simply can't get past it really being on par with the Indy series of the past. Indy looks half asleep from the previews! I know...they named the dog Indy. We all like the series, but this one I'm really reserving to go see it thinking it's not theater worthy. Drive-in worthy for me is even more than Theater (unless it's a Bruce Campbell movie, and all are drive-in by default). I just think if I see it thinking it'll fit, I'll be depressed. I'd rather have short-round than the kid from Transformers. I just don't understand how he's a big anything without being a punchline setup artist. So ya, I'm turned off before even seeing it. The CGI above all has me feeling "bleack". When it looks like it's as real and believable as a Sam Raimi clay-mation effect, then CGI fails for me big time. Speed up the pace doesn't fix it. Add a jokester and a tired old man...I really gotta find more than "Please, please, please let's go see it" to justify a $50 night out. I hear we're seeing it Monday night, so whatever...we'll see. |

| saw it last night, the CGI to me were pretty damn good. You know its a Lucas film so story-wise its eh, but I felt it was pretty good to the series. Just a bit weird seeing Indy so old. |

| Functional Alcoholic | Got to love that Military Discount. $6 a ticket, so for $20 I can take my wife to the movies, and share a soda with her. ![]() |

| So yeah, just saw it and it was worse than I feared. If you like typical modern adventure movies then you'll probably like it. But if you like the original trilogy for what it was, don't expect to see it here. Basically I found it really contrived and dumbed down. I could rant on, but suffice to say I'm quite sour, this movie could have been amazing. ![]() |

| That's disappointing to hear drew >_< I'll probably still go see it; we saw Ironman the other night instead (which exceeded my expectations, especially if you waited until the very end of the credits for the extra little surprise). | Colonel Calamity | from what I hear, it all depends on your perception and knowledge of the series before seeing it. If you expect it to be a continuation of the previous ones, then it will be a movie to sleep through. From the info I read, this was not supposed to be the next in the series, it is supposed to be a "new" one in the series with its own elements. I will be getting it when it comes out on DVD in 4 months.... i have been seeing Harrison Ford on allt he shows lately, specifically Leno and some other one, and I was amazed at how old he looks. It seems he is definitely getting old because on Leno he had problems speaking off the top of his head. I suspect we won't see too many more movies with him in it... unless the next Indiana Jones starts off with Ford passing along all of his secrets to some kid (or put him in the father role like Sean Connery). ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
