Default Honda commercial

I don't normally participate in forwards, but this one is pretty amazing.

Quote:
This is pretty amazing. Actually, it is amazing! AND TRUE !

Read the info first, then watch the clip. And you thought those people
that set up roomfuls of dominoes to knock over were amazing. There are
no computer graphics or digital tricks in the film. Everything you see
really happened in real time exactly as you see it. The film took 606
takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually very minor, didn't
work. They would then have to set the whole thing up again.

The crew spent weeks shooting night and day. By the time it was over,
they were ready to change professions. The film cost six million
dollars and took three months to complete including full engineering of
the sequence. In addition, it's two minutes long so every time Honda
airs the film on British television, they're shelling out enough dough
to keep any one of us in clover for a lifetime. However, it is fast
becoming the most downloaded advertisement in Internet history. Honda
executives figure the ad will soon pay for itself simply in "free
viewings" (Honda isn't paying a dime to have you watch this
commercial!).

There are six and only six hand-made Honda Accords in the world. To the
horror of Honda engineers, the filmmakers disassembled two of them to
make the film. Everything you see in the film (aside from the walls,
floor, ramp, and complete Honda Accord) is parts from those two cars.
The voice over is Garrison Keillor.

When the ad was pitched to senior executives, they signed off on it
immediately without any hesitation - including the costs. When the ad
was shown to Honda executives, they liked it and commented on how
amazing computer graphics have gotten. They fell off their chairs when
they found out it was for real. Oh, and about those funky windshield
wipers. On the new Accords, the windshield wipers have water sensors and
are designed to start doing their thing automatically as soon as they
become wet.

It is cool, but it floated around the net about 2 years ago.

It is neat that they used parts from a Honda.

I have owned one Honda. It was a great car, but it was just too damn small for my family.

I've got a 99 Honda Accord, Panda Man has an 05 or 06 Civic, both have been truly great rides. I'll give it to Honda, if a car survives me as a driver, then it's a damn good ride.

I have an 04 Accord with a 2.5L 4-Cyl. As long as you stay away from their early gen V-6's, Accords are damn near bullet proof.

I rode Harley's for a good many years. I love them and they have a personality no other bike can match. But I was putting 30-60k a year on them and it was too expensive to ride. Not to mention the lost riding time from repairs. So in 2004 I got a Honda VTX1300C. Many engine mods later, it runs fantastically. I was down for a year with my surgery and unable to ride, then a few months in there for the extremely cold/inclement weather, and I still have just over 14K miles on it. The tornado is the only reason it's in the shop now. Other than tires, my VTX has never had a need for a shop. *knocks on wood*

Yeah I am with you on that one. My ex wife talked me into trading in my truck for a 95 Honda accord when my son was born. When we PCSed from Hawaii to Ft Carson in 99, We made a road trip in it from LA up to Portland Oregon, over to North Idaho, and down to Colorado via Montana and Wyoming with all of our crap (that grew along the trip) and 2 kids. When we got to Ft Carson I traded it in on the 4runner (I still have to this day) and vowed never to drive another small car on a long trip ever again.
