Default HL's influence around the web

http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.ph...57&postcount=9

"We are trying to change up our formats some to produce more focused and less diluted content on fewer pages. Basically saying what is important and getting away from re-regurgitation and 20 page articles. Sometimes 20 pages are needed, but not all the time." - Kyle Bennett

I'm very happy to see some of the other sites adopting HardwareLogic's review format. Hopefully more sites will take this approach and get away from the fluff in articles.

I forgot to add the <sarcasm> tags.

I've met Kyle once, I've talked to him a few times.

As to the review philosophy, its something we've been trying to refine since starting the site. I want the focus to be on the product being reviewed, the value, and who should and shouldn't consider it. Most people look at the first and last page of reviews, some browse through the benchmarks, which is why we don't use 10 pages of graphs....Instead we use a simple table with everything right there and easy to see.

This is just one of the reasons I love this site. Everything that is done here as far as reviews and help is thought out and well said. My "CUDOS" to the sight and everyone here. This "IS" the place to be, Bailey.

Yeah we already knew that, but it's not only the staff it's also the............. oh it shines so bright. :O

Jokes aside, it's refreshing to see such short articles. I think alot of articles on certain websites overload the reader with statistics that aren't exactly worthy. The reader brain becomes numbed from all those numbers and graphs and doesn't exactly know what are the main points of the reviewed hardware/software.
That's where HL differs. I think most if not all reviews on HL go far enough to make the reader feel confident about the knowledge of the reviewer but at the same time not too far that the reader only see techy gibberish.

On a more or less related note, some websites have a terrible way of surfing thru pages of a review, making it a total hassle to find the information you're looking for. HL has page numbers, ranging from 1 to 10. It can't be more simple than that, can it? :P
