HL Blogs are now open

I've installed the blogging software, and at least for now have restricted it to the VIP members. We need to come up with some good rules, aside from the regular forum rules, and make sure we stay on top of it.

I don't want this to become a problem....while I would prefer it to be a place for people to share their thoughts on the tech industry, and things like work logs for mods, etc....i don't have any problem with it being a place where people can blog away on whatever they want....sports, life, whatever....as long as it doesn't violate the rules, or reflect poorly on HL.

I'd also like to publish the best blogs,as they should be some good conversation starters.

I think that installing it for the Vip members was a grand idea Rich!!! At least that gives a little extra for people that are VIP members

As far as rules go, blogs are blogs, as long as there is no porn, and things are kept within reason, I think it will go pretty well overall!

I agree Stinger......and hope this turns out to be a good thing....my fear is it will end up like the Picture Gallery, which no one ended up using....

We have blogs, and still have the chat room and the picture gallery software should we ever need them.

We have a picture gallery? I never even heard of that...
I think we should encourage and remind people about the stuff we have, like the Newegg deal with user reviews. It's easy to forget, and we have new members coming and going that might not have heard of it.

Yep, damn, the chat room, and the pic gallery were great ideas, just didn't really work out! Maybe people will get more involved with the "blog" scene

Kind of one of those "fads" now! Seems like everyone thinks they need to have a blog Of course you realize a year from now it will probably change, like the fashion scene

My suggestion is to keep it tech related so we don't get people whining about their sucky Steelers or their dog crapping on the neighbors porch or whatever... let them run their personal blog elsewhere and keep the tech related stuff here.

Maybe a big thing, some kind of "The HardwareLogic Perks" or something along them lines that let all of the members know what is really here for them

Exactly, I know most people can't be assed to read the stickied posts and miss out on a lot of stuff. I really enjoy the community atmosphere HL has, and the more people get involved with the things we have the better it is for the site and members in general.

I really think that will come natural!
I mean, most all of the members that stick around, and are active, pretty much are concerned with the tech end of the world! They either would like advice, or wish to give advise, and I believe it will be a good avenue for the VIP members!

As this community grows, it will become much more difficult to keep the "perks" organized, and maybe a forum "blog" for the VIP members will help just that little bit!!!
