Don't know why Quakin' started this, but........
Back a ways in TV history, there was a program called Waltons Mountain. The show was about a large family and the trials and tribulations of growing up in the late '20's and the '30's.
At the end of every show it was night time and the kids and parents would say goodnight.
It would start out 'good night, Johnboy' then 'goodnight Elizabeth' and on down the list of kids they would go.

Very popular show at the time, I never watched a episode and I still know about the goodnight John-Boy from all the media coverage back then.

I only started it to mess with Panda. I wanted to confuse him a little so he would be inclined to look something up on the Internet. My ploy worked.

Panda and I had been posting in a thread one after the other. So I was letting him know I was going to bed. Just playing around really.

It never fails if you're in a large group getting ready to go to sleep, someone will say "Goodnight Johnboy"
