Going for some treatment

In New Orleans. Leave here in about five hours.

The Army is sending me to New Orleans for Hyperbaric treatments. I'm at a point where the headaches have gotten so bad that I'm willing to try anything to get rid of them. This is what they've come up with and after doing some research about the topic, it very well might help.

This dude was in a severe car accident.

A doctor who has been re-pioneering a lot of this Hyperbaric stuff has invited me down for free treatment, the Army just has to pay for my room and board. So myself and one other guy injured by an IED in Iraq are going down today. Luckily, the other dude can drive long distances. I will be gone for a month. However, the hotel I'll be at has Internet, so I won't be completely out of the loop. But initially, these treatments can cause the headaches to be worse for a few days while I get used to the pressures involved.

I really hope this puts an end to the headaches. If it helps out in other areas of brain function, all the better. My next post will be from a hotel in New Orleans, a few miles from LSU.

Hey folks. We made it here about midnight last night. So far, I am not impressed with where we are staying. The guy I traveled here with has family in the local area, so made the reservations. I’m at this Bed & Breakfast place. It’s really a quaint place to stay rich with history, but the wireless Internet in the rooms absolutely sucks due to the age of this place. It's constructed very well and the signal just won't penetrate upstairs. Evidently, there's no repeaters either. And the RJ45 port doesn’t work. If my Internet situation doesn’t improve greatly, I’ll be looking to move. It’s bad enough my routine is all jacked up, but only being able to access the Internet when downstairs in the living room area is simply unacceptable. I’m going to have a lot of free time in the afternoons and would like to be able to play a couple online games to help pass the time. Instead, I get some fancy pants friggin co-traveler who obviously has zero appreciation for the technology requirements of a computer geek.

I'm not too happy. A ZD8000, even with its own stock battery, is a flippin hog for power. And since my co-travler, also named Tom, is some kinda of artsy-fartsy guy who loves the elitism of staying in a Bed and Breakfast, I'm now kinda stuck here. And if I hear this asshole tell ONE more person:

"Yeah, Tom and I are here because we were injured in Iraq. Tom here is in worse shape than I am in, but he was hurt by our own forces blowing stuff up where I was hurt when an IED blew up my Hummer. Now I get to have Florida's Purple Heart tags and am disabled."

If I hear that phucking story come out of his face one more time, I'm going to permanently disable the dumbass. This guy just loves calling attention to himself and tbh, I don't like talking about how I got hurt or my friggin issues. It's not anyone else's damned business. Yeah, I'm cranky. My routine has changed, I'm in a strange city, I have to depend on someone else for transportation and being a simple redneck like me, I don't like these fancy ass places with wine and cheese served from 5:30-6:30, "Your presence would not only be appreciated, but is expected!!"

You know what? Shut the hell up, get outta my face and get your signal issues fixed or I'm taking my ass to the Hilton. But let me kick this guys ass real quick before I go.....

WOW, yeah I think I would just tell him, hey man I really need internet to keep up with friends and family, and I have other obligations that require me to have a reliable internet connection. So I am going to find a hotel with in room internet. Being stuck sharing a ride with this guy sucks too, but you can rent a car. So your options are rent a car, and get your own hotel, or suck it up. Also tell him, I am a private person, and I prefer not to have my story shared with everyone, unless it's coming from me. He doesn't know you, so you got to set your boundaries.
