Forum Update

Alright, before anyone sends me a "WTF" PM or starts a new thread on the forums, I'll update you as to what we're doing.

1. We've disabled the ability to sign up using Yahoo email accounts, as the spamming was getting out of control. We'll still allow Hotmail and GMail accounts....at least until they get to be a problem.

2. If you look at the bottom of the forums, you'll see that the membership has dropped from 870+ to 650+, this is because we deleted every single spammed and banned account from the database. We also deleted every Yahoo and hotmail account that had zero posts, as well as people who had multiple acoounts on a single IP address.

While I love the growth we are experiencing, I don't want people to be misled when they come to HL. We have a great core of 20-30 members who are contributing a lot to the forums, but we need to work on getting inactive members back on the site and spreading the word about our content. Please do your part by DIGGING articles and threads you think others might be interested in, recommending HL on other forums you frequent, and referring your friends.

I'd just noticed the drop in registered members and figured as much. Good job of keeping it real!

Gotta filter them out man, keep HL strong!

I'd rather have 300 loyal and good members than 900 with the other 600 being...well not as good.

Like, say, how many people are over like 250 posts? JW.

these are needed changes and are nothing but good for the forums... I am surprised you even said anything since this was necessary.
