Default firefox and ie

Can you have both of these on your system at the same time? Is there anything you need to do before downloading Firefox? Are there any pitfalls to having both? I have my computer running like I wnt it to be running and I dont wanna screw the pooch by installing something on it that will screw it.

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

Firefox 2 (or 1.5) and IE (5.5, 6 or 7) can exist side by side without any problems
Since FF uses program files and not shared registry settings, they can work side by side without conflicts.
I have had any combination of the above versions without a single conflict for several years now.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

There is no problem in having both on your computer at the same time. The only problem i can see is one program being the default and the other not.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

when downloading browsers 9/10 browsers will run side by side with the others.

i use a mixture of Opera 9.02, firefox 2 and IE7 all at the same time. i'm even gunna download safari and check that out.

all you need to worry about is which browser you want as your default....if your straying from IE i recomend Fire fox or Opera as your new defaults. there more reliable and can read a lot more scripting languages coding compared to IE7 and below.

Like the Support i Give or the skins i make? Feel free to donate to help fund further projects:

Yeah, Firefox even has an extension called IE Tab that will let you switch HTML rendering engines between Firefox and Internet Explorer. So you can have tabs opening web pages in Firefox or Internet Explorer all within the Firefox interface.

Safari is actually based on Konqueror (the KDE browser), though it may seem like a Firefox clone. Safari is not available for Windows or Linux, and it requires OS X 10.3 to run. To my knowledge, it has never been independently emulated.
