Default Do Not Call Registry

CLICK HERE to go to the National Do Not Call Registry (U.S.A.) to enter your home phone and cell numbers. The previous (initial) list is apparently going to expire and cell phones are also going to be 'available' to telemarketers.

The National Registry is good for five years. If you registered a phone number five years ago, and you still have that number, then you need to re-register.

If it was only two or three years ago, your registration is still good until it hits the five year mark.

You can input your cell phone, and definitely should enter your home phone, but as an FYI, cell phones aren't going to targeted by telemarketers:

The thing about the cell phones is this. If you start getting "live" person telemarketing calls, register the cell number. You cannot get automated telemarketing calls by law, but a live person can call your cell.

And if someone shows me where they can't, then Chase America and Peeble's will be getting a call from me.

I think they have always said that companies and organizations that you are affiliated with (your credit card companies or organizations you have donated to) are permitted to call you. That explains why Paul constantly gets phone calls from NAMBLA! :P

Financial and charitable institutions are exempt. Which made up 99% of the annoying calls I received before I got rid of my landline.

My wife put us on the list a few years ago before we moved. I honestly noticed an increase in telemarketing calls after that. Weird.
