| Here's some free legal alternatives to cable with quite a few shows. i just watch some on Joost and if you can swing a invite to HULU you can get quite a bit more T.V. shows like House, Bones and Prison Break. Ditch Your Cable Company With Free, Legal Alternatives | MakeUseOf.com |

| Colonel Calamity | I've used Joost before and it is pretty cool but the "buffering" and the connections sometimes lag, even with a 8MB high speed connection. the others I have not heard of but seem decent enough. One major problem with these are the content, sure there is a LOT of content but most of it is older or limited stuff, only a limited number of Star Trek episodes, only first season of Babylon 5 (which I saw all episodes) and so on so there may be a lot but it is limited on how many of anything specific. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| Yes content can be better but there is that possibility with networks getting involved with it. Maybe they can make enough from advertising this way to make it a worthwhile venture. When I was watching Joost I didn't have any lag. I don't know if that was related to number of users on it or the location. I also had a large download going at the time. |

| I prefer channel surfing...but OTH sucks a**! I can't wait until I get my own place and town and can choose between satellite and cable (I'm leaning towards satellite right now.). ![]() |

| Functional Alcoholic | You're going to get your own town? Are you going to name it after yourself, WhiteEagle Town? Will there be a McDonald's there so you can have a job? |

| I found Joost didn't have that many shows, and I was pretty surprised when I saw it eating 250MB of ram ![]() I still don't get why big networks freak out if their shows are torrented. I could just set up an antenna and watch the shows for free anyways. Is it because the lack of ads?
