Default Digital Photography

Are any of you into digital photography, and if so what camera's
are you using and what format do you prefer?

Wife broke our 5 year old 2.1 MP Sony CyberShot, so we replaced
it with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi from the egg. Just got the camera
and wow! This thing can take some very nice (and extremely large
pictures).

Taking all the shots in the RAW format, then digitally enhancing them using
the supplied Canon utility and the GIMP.

I have a Sony DSC-H2 digital. Ever since my first 1.0MP camera I've not used traditional film. As a matter of fact, I gave my brother a Minolta manual body camera with a wide assortment of lenses that was laying around my closet. I just didn't want to mess with that after going digital.

I purchased an Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom some years ago. It's a 4.0 megapixel with 10x optical zoom and 6x digital. It's a solid camera, with all the features you could ask for without shelling out the big bucks for a SLR. It even has a hot shoe. As far as format goes, I take mine in TIFF, 1024x768 for stills or images I need high resolution in, for everything else it's SQ2 1280x960.

I have a little 35mm Olympus Stylus Zoom that I use for when I'm on the water fly fishing. It's weatherproof and takes some fantastic 35mm stills. =)

I have a basic camera but it takes fantastic pictures
FujiFilm S3000 3.1MP
uses xD memory sticks and the pictures at the highest setting are at 2048x1536
With this camera, the dark pics are pretty bad and the flash doesn't travel very well but indoors with flash or outdoors with plenty of light it is just fantastic. I have some downsized on photobucket... may add a few to our vBPicGallery here... I do have 2 of my XP-M 2600+ in my gallery taken with that camera.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Have taken about 100 shots since getting the camera, all in RAW format at 3888x2592. Using the OEM version of some editing software that came with the camera. Very impressed with the camera and pictures, not impressed in the slightest with the software bundle.

1 picture = 10MB + in RAW on this thing ...

I'll take a look at 'lightroom', but $200 is a lot for someone
who only does it for fun.

I have a little canon power shot A530, which I bought 2 months ago when my expensive cam was stolen. I'm not buying expensive ones anymore because when stolen or broken the loss is to big. anyway this little thing performs very well and I love it
