Default Death of a Forum

Before I discovered Hardware Logic, I used to frequent Hardware Analysis. Although I got a lot of good guidance there and learned very much, I soon became disenchanted with all the bickering and flaming that was going on there and got to the point where I would only check in every week or two to see if there was anything interesting going on.

This morning was one of those times, and I discovered this long fight (no other work suffices) between the moderators, former moderator, administrator, and the site's owner, Sander Sassen. Sander, Can't Write An Article Without A Question Mark At The End?

I point this out for two reasons:

1. To show what can happen when forum users and members, and staff stop treating each other with respect and in a spirit of friendship.

2. To remind us what a great place Hardware Logic is and say thanks to Capper, all the staff, and all of you for this terrific forum!

Carl

Without a doubt, this is the best forum on the net.

That post link was a good waste of 15 min. of my life.

I would rather read a NewEgg review than a [H] review

I hate Apache based forums, so wouldn't have stayed there myself regardless of the ridiculous BS going on.

Yeah, I get the point but can't be bothered to read it.

This is also to key, to point out, that Forum staff should have a Separate Section for this kind of stuff. Usually people adapt accordingly the their leaders, so in this case if the staff are fighting, then everyone else will be fighting. If the staff was very helpful, then the community would be happy.

For the short time Ive been at Hardware Logic (Very short, indeed), I havn't seen one fight, flame, or bicker!

We have a forum for the staff to talk about issues....not that its ever been a problem with the people around here. Its a tough gig, managing a forum....we've had our share of drive by shitbags and trolls, but I have no problem kicking those types to the curb.

I won't apologize my being a "post nazi" or a hard ass, and there are no guarantees here about free speech or saying anything you want......there are plenty of places for that type of stuff.....HL is exactly what I want it to be, a laid back place to learn, help others, and have fun.

Also, I'm only one person, and poster....HL is what it is because of you guys who are here every day, helping others, being supportive, and having fun.
