Cingular/AT&T censorship

I recently went to their support forums to ask a question about international rates for data.

And I was somewhat shocked that in one of my posts, they censored me.

My post had a link to information about Finland's local rates, as well as data and text, and I copy/pasted the fine print from the MEdia NET package into it as well, which showed '$.195 per KB of usage' both of which they removed.


damn. I was going to say something, but I figure that'd be as effective as emailing GW in the white house with a subect line reading "RE: IRAQ"




I just wanted to vent that out a bit. Spent a good 20-30 mins on hold to get some worthless information.

yeah im pretty pissed at cingular/at&t right now. cost me $2.50 a minute to use over here when they said i had an "international package." needless to say i ended up with a large bill.

i start paying it off using the online payment method since i cant call them to pay (they shut the phone off. besides if it did work they probably would have charged me for it) well they locked me out of that 2 days before my last payment meaning i couldnt pay at all. so i spent the better part of my next day off talking to my father online about it when he tells me they sent a letter stating that they want their money and if i dont get it to them, theyre going to take me to collections. so i tell him the M/F'ers locked me out of the online payment. so he calls them up and we proceed to work at it. oh btw my phone had been shut off for 3 months, yet they were still charging me $60 as if i still had it on.

anyway we get them what i owe and what they were going to take me to collections over however if i want my phone turned on i have to pay $175 and have a credit check. hell no turn it off. well they want $170 to turn it off. my dad proceeds to give them the whole 9 yards yadda yadda about me and what not (even dropped the "my congressman line lol) so he got my account put into suspension until i come home. needless to say im switching providers when i get home. cingular used to be great until at&t bought them out. ill never look back at those assholes

HOLY CRAP Si !!

yea their billing thing sucks ass. hard. while i was on the phone with them I gave em to my dad and he was like "you know, your billing thing sucks. I got the bill and I have like 6 days to pay it before you start saying over due."

And yea, it is INCREDI-FUCKING-BLY expencive. $1.50/min and 50 cents a text.

Well hell. My wife and I are getting ready to buy our first cell phones and plan, and we were initially looking at Cingular/AT&T... not sure about that anymore.
