Christmas gifting

Anyone interested in making the holiday better for some of our guys over-sea's?

Was at the Dr today with my daughter and saw a letter in a mag about some lady that sent Christmas stockings last year to guys in Iraq. Thought that maybe some of our members would like a little bit of home. From what the article said, some guys there don't get care packages.

Is this do-able? Would anyone like to participate? If so, what should we send? If I do bake cookies this year, I can make extra to send over. Yes, I can bake; very well too

We always do that.....having served, and with a brother still in Afghanistan...and Blair in Iraq.. Been sending stuff to both, and even have my monster in law and her friends sending stuff to Blair.
Got an email from him yesterday, seems he was walking between buildings and had a rocket land less than 200 ft from him.....said it really woke him up.
I highly encourage people remember the boys and girls over seas....deployments can be really depressing, especially when your in a combat zone, sometimes something so small as a Christmas card can really make a difference

Rich, what kind of stuff would you suggest? Mags? Music CD's? Every day items like toothbrushes, American toothpaste / soap in addition to treats?

When I was overseas....it may sound stupid....but the greatest gift in the world (outside of Copenhagen) was baby wipes....you have no idea!!!!

I'm sure they are doing pretty good as far as games and stuff like that goes....food stuff and personal hygiene things would probably be at the top of the list.....
