| Uh... WalMart was promoting HD DVD like hell with their $14.99 HD DVDs and $99 HD DVDs players... However, they recently announced that they're discontinuing HD DVD product by June. - Core 2 Quad Q6600 - DFI Infinity 975X - 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800 - 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM - ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB - Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W - Acer 19" P191W Monitor - Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution - Vista Ultimate x64 |

| Exactly. I refuse to be one of those consumers that is "forced" to pick sides in order for a high definition DVD format to finally be settled on. |

Fun fact: Both HD-DVD and Blu-ray use the exact same wavelength blue laser. Go figure on the price differences between the players. Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 | |

| Colonel Calamity | agreed, I will not be even thinking of going to either format until I actually have a TV or computer or SOMETHING that can actually display it properly. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Yup - HD-DVD coffin was all but nailed shut anyway, but Walmart's announced was the equivalent of a cremation, killing any hope of a resurrection. |
