Default Bush No.1 hero... and villian.

Poll: Bush is hero -- and villain -- of the year - CNN.com

"Bad guy of 2006: President Bush. Good guy of 2006: President Bush. When people were asked in an AP-AOL News poll to name the villains and heroes of the year, Bush topped both lists, in a sign of these polarized times.

Bush won the villain sweepstakes by a landslide, with one in four respondents putting him at the top of that bad-guy list. When people were asked to name the candidate for villain that first came to mind, Bush far outdistanced even Osama bin Laden, the terrorist leader in hiding; and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, who is scheduled for execution.

The president was picked as hero of the year by a much smaller margin. In the poll, 13 percent named him as their favorite while 6 percent cited the troops in Iraq."

I agree with villian, but hero... COME ON AMERICA!

Bush isn't as bad as every says. People are naturally negative so they exaggerate everything he has done wrong.

Quote:
President leads troops in Iraq on heroes list
Does this mean that the troops think he is a hero? I couldn't really distinguish what it meant.

Quote:
President ahead of Saddam Hussein, bin Laden on villain list
I would put Saddam Hussein ahead of President Bush.

It's also an AP poll, which means it's left-wing, and probably polled a majority of democrats:o

He is neither a Hero nor a villain, He is President of the United States, and is faced with making hard decisions every day. Do I agree with every thing he does? of course not, but the people didn't elect me to make decisions for them they elected him. To call him a villain is very harsh. Its easy to criticize when your on the outside looking in. I will give Bush one thing, the guy has some balls, something our last President didn't have. Criticizing the President is both useless and unproductive. The 2008 Presidential Election is less then 2 years away, so relax change is coming. I have a better Idea why not do something productive, like helping out in your local community to make it better.

I wouldn't put him on a hero list, but I wouldn't put him on the villain list either. Agree with the above and raise it by: polls are never accurate, and can be spun in so many different directions/angles they are useless. Unfortunately too many people rely on them for guidance.

I'd say, he's the worst president that this country has ever had. Ran the "American" image down to the ground, more countries/people hate the U.S. now.

He won't admit he's made the worst mistakes ever and he keeps acting like what he's done is not terrible. And he's not articulate at all when he speaks, he's the child poster for: "Support Higher Education"

$300 billion wasted, yet, there's tons and tons of people that needs help in this country but yet, George Douche, spends it somewhere else. So he can pay himself and his oil industry buddies.

I want my taxes back, I'm not paying for our people getting killed for a worthless cause.

Pfft. What does it matter then? IMO, leftists have a completely unrealistic view on how the country should be.

Are political discussions allowed? Because this might get heated

I se some good point being made....President bush is neither a hero nor a villian. He's done what he could with what he was dealt.....who's to say how anyone else would have handled things after Sept 11, 2001. I also think the problems in the Middle east were brewing long before he became President, so to lay that at his feet is irresponsible.
Saying that most people "hate" the US is simply not true either, having spent most of my military career deployed to various hot spots, I laugh when I see the media say we are hated, it almost completely the opposite of what I've seen, and what my brothers have seen. Part of this is a very dramatic and irresponsible media, part of it is countries like Russia, Germany, and France who want us to fail so they can be the world power.......Its also funny that for all this talk of hate, we're the first country everyone runs to when something goes wrong, and we're always the first to help.
Worst President ever? Jimmy Carter!!! Who's foreign policy was only slightly worse than Bill Clinton's.

I don't think he's a villian or hero. I do think the democrats and republicans could give us better choices for president though.
