Anyone go and wait in line?

I am thinking about pulling an all nighter and heading out to circuit city at 3:30 AM........

hell no... I did that last year and year before, this year I am staying in bed until my normal wake up time of 7:50AM and work at 8AM... I think the pregnant wife will be going to a few stores.

So is it worth it the years you went?

You have to research every store, every item you want, the hours they open, everything. That way you can plan to get the items you want first so you have a better chance of getting them and everything else should be "IF I get it". If you just go out and expect everything to be there, you may as well stay home for all the disappointment. Some stores make people wait outside after so many are let in (this is popular at Best Buy, Circuit City and other electronics stores).
In my local area, some stores keep certain highly wanted items in a low quantity to start and bring out more out every 1-2 hours (keep people shopping longer and buying more while they wait), others put everything out at once and once its gone, its gone. I was hoping to find a Wii but that is a no go, the Wiis are sold out in a matter of 2-4 hours of being stocked at every local store within an hour of me since they were released.

The only thing I really wanted was Rock Band bundle for the PS3, and had full intentions of getting up at 3:30am and wait in line for Walmart to open at 5:00am since they are the only ones that reliably carry it. However, after I spent about 20 minutes of the phone calling all the local Walmarts where I live, I found a store that had two left and were not earmarked for the Black Friday sale. Needless to say, my wife and I drove 30 minutes to the Walmart to pick one up.

This game bundle sells fast: I was talking to a Walmart employee and was told that they sold out of four skids worth in less than two days.

Long story short why, I used to go to a Walmart and watch the moronic insanity. I have participated once, and they ran out of what I went for before I got to the pallet, and swore I'd never do it again.

Though, I guess I'd go this morning if I didn't have to work...they have a coat that is a "secret item" that would be nice for one of the grandkids. My wife is a manager there working during "the blitz", and can't participate.

I'm sure that they will again this year, every year that I can think of, the local KB Toys has had to call the police to clear the idiots out, they get so crazy.

I don't need anything that requires facing that crap. Screw it, I'll pay $20 more for something than wait in line and deal with a bunch of rabid assholes trying to buy the same thing.

I just waited in line for 7 hours at gamestop.

I got 3 wii's (2 go to ebay), Guitar Hero II, and Mario Galaxy

I was thinking of asking if we could buy that Wii from you but we decided to just get some new games for our Gamecube (which we only got for free in the past week anyways).
There are several games I am planning on selling anyways as there is no way we would play them.

I did the Black Friday thing two years ago, and was genuinely surprised at how rowdy the rabid shoppers become. We showed up at Wal-Mart right before it was supposed to open and there was a loooooong line, but they ended up both the entrance and exit doors, so we strolled right in. One of the ladies in the front of the line literally started crying to an employee because she waited in line for hours and people that just showed up got in the store just as fast - boo f*#%ing hoo.

Once inside, people didn't walk, they ran, and nobody had any qualms about pushing you aside without apologizing. Tammy was putting my son into a cart at one point to get him away from the madness, and one lady behind her kept nudging Tammy with her cart to hurry her up (I didn't learn about this until after we left). It's just absolutely insane how people act towards one another to save some money.
