| I've seen some torrents take several minutes before they started downloading. Try azureus if both uTorrent and Bit Comet are failing Opteron 64 165--1.5GB DDR--ECS KA1 MVP(thanks HL!)--x1800GTO 256MB--Seagate 320GB SATA--Antec 550 Watt--Antec P180 |

| Functional Alcoholic | Lead Head is right, I tried BitComet a few times and the torrents wouldn't start for days. I would open the same torrent in Azureus and it would start right up. You also have to be careful with BitComet it's full of spyware. |

| HL's Technomancer | Usually, with my Linksys router the ports open automatically, but on my Westell I have to manually configure it to allow connections through. Also as Joker said, look at your firewall settings. Windows is the easiest to work with, but some like Nortons and Commodo can be a pain. You'll have to make sure that TCP connections are allowed Outgoing and Incoming on your specified port for most firewalls. Look here if you need help with opening ports on your router PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall |
